This is my fifteen year old sister, Hannah. She has a cyst on her pineal gland, which is in the middle of her brain. (From what I understand, a cyst is like a tumor but filled with liquid.) We’ve known about it for about two years, and it constantly gives her horrific headaches, that can last weeks. Her vision is getting very bad because of it too, and so is her quality of life, she’s started fainting and had a couple seizures recently. Just last week we had a Skype conference with one of the two neurosurgeons, in the world, who would potentially perform the surgery to remove it. (A lot of people have trouble getting this surgery approved, but because Hannah’s is one of the largest cysts in one of the youngest patients, it was approved.) Praise God. The surgery will take place in June, but only if we can pay the $50,000. We really need help raising this money.

There is no space in the world anymore for those who live differently. Everything has to be smoothed away, that everyone, in the name of globalization must lose his and her identity and way of living.

WARNING to anyone who feeds their pets PURINA pet food. Maggots have been found in the dog food and the cat food. It has been making animals sick and even killing some but Purina is refusing to recall their products. I found tonight (1/28/13) that MY bag of Purina One pet food for my cat has an infestation of maggots in it. Please check your pets food if you buy Purina. I’m returning my bag and switching brands. Not a happy pet owner right now.

Ender’s Game author Orson Scott Card is a board member at the National Organization for Marriage, one of the largest, most visible, and most vocal anti-gay organizations. Card stands to personally make a fair amount of money due to this film. A fair amount of that money will go to fund NOM and other anti-LGBT causes.

I really enjoy Card’s writing, but I can no longer enrich him. Do not see this film. Do not buy his books. There are many fine actors in this film, and the crew is no doubt full of great people who deserve to make a living, but that’s not reason enough to see it.

I’ve always known how incredibly homophobic Orson Scott Card is, and it comes across in his books in an almost preachy fashion.  I do know some how like his books, however, and I did manage to find that some are available as free Kindle book downloads (though, most likely NOT the books in the Ender series).

While I did like the Ender series, I’m not willing to go see a movie and support a man who is extremely homophobic and who will use his wealth to help fund a homophobic cause.
